It is no secret that making the switch to a sustainable lifestyle is hard. There are so many things that need to be switched out and habits that need to be changed to achieve a sustainable life for the environment. I'm here to hopefully make this process easier for you in finding easy ways to be sustainable. Today we are talking about what are some sustainable and eco-friendly makeup brands for you to choose from.
First though what is considered sustainable packaging? Well here is a list for you which is selected based on how fast the source can renew itself if its compostable, recyclable and how much energy source it takes up.
- Biodegradable paper
- Recycled plastic (personally I'm iffy about this one)
- Silicone (again iffy)
All products made by zero waist beauty are 100% natural, Australian made, vegan and cruelty-free. They do not use sulphates, parabens, aluminium, synthetic fragrances or other chemicals. The packaging itself is made from glass jars with biodegradable labels.
They sell all beauty products from, scrubs, masks to oral care.
There is no better nails polish brand than this one, let me tell you that. This nails polish brand located and manufactured all in Australia is cruelty-free, ethical and uses no harmful chemicals. They're packaging is biodegradable and recyclable not to mention they collaborate with charities and donate 2% of revenue each year. Which is actually quite a bit for business.
This brand is vegan, cruelty-free, zero waste, plastic-free and a bunch more. They stock all things from setting powders, eye shadows to lips!
This is a beautiful brand, they're open to you about how not all aspects of their packaging is sustainable due to functional reasons. They are however making a strong effort to get it there. The reasoned I have included them is because they encourage their customers to recycle their finished products with their company and in return, they get a discount. They formulate 97% of their products without water which is amazing! Most of their packaging is made from either glass or aluminium. These guys stock all needed makeup products providing an okay foundation range.
While this brand only uses organic ingredients they also use the most minimal aluminium packaging BUT WAIT that’s not the cool part. After buying one product there is no need to repurchase a whole new product leaving you with more waist to throughout. All you do is buy a refill and fill up your existing packaging of the one you just finished!
There you go guys 5 different beauty care brands that are helping the environment while giving you the products you want.
